Ukrainian week in Gdansk
12.11.2019
At the invitation of Antoni Filipkowski and the Ukrainian consulate in Gdansk, I visited Trimisto to tell about Odessa and the first Ukrainian wine and taste road, I hope, to future guests of our city. I shared my knowledge and love for Odessa with a huge audience. Our region is very interesting for Polish tourists. Direct flights from five cities in Poland to Odessa, I am sure, will be filled not only in one direction “from Ukraine”, the first tourists have already bought tickets and fly to us right after Catholic Christmas.
I would also like to thank the Consul of Ukraine in Gdansk Lev Zakharchishin and his wife Tatyana Yermak for the warm, hearty welcome and invitation to dinner at the Ukrainian restaurant in Gdansk Pan Kotowski. This is Natalia Ganina’s restaurant, where she and her family cook the best dishes of Ukrainian cuisine every day, popularizing our gastronomic culture. Delicate halushki, the famous Ukrainian salo, borscht, vareniki, baked duck, pickled vegetables, zavivantsy, and uzvar – food that is familiar to us from childhood and the need for which we experience throughout life. All this can be found in the menu of the genuine and homely cozy Natasha’s restaurant. Any Ukrainian who lives in Trimisto has been here many times. When you live far from home, going to a restaurant with national cuisine and eating your usual food is like being at home.
