Lesson “Pekelna cuisine”
We conducted a whole series of lessons at our school together with the finalist of the second season of the popular television project “Hell’s Kitchen” (Ukraine), chef Dmitry Popov. “Hell’s Kitchen” or “Pekelna Kuhnia” is a culinary marathon lasting several weeks, where each participant is tasked to impress the project chef, judges and guests with the culinary masterpieces. Meanwhile, the chef arranges wards of real hell: he throws the dishes in the trash for the slightest flaw, demands perfect quality in everything, does not restrain himself in expressions, brings to tantrums and easily parts with wimps. He determines who leaves the project and who remains. Dmitry went through all the “circles of hell” and reached the final. We decided to repeat at our school the menu that brought him success: an aubergine appetizer with mozzarella – Parmigiana di Melanzane, classic spaghetti carbonara and tender panna cotta with fresh berries. Dmitry told us how to cook pasta and how much the success of this process depends on the correctly selected pan. We learned how to quickly grate Parmesan using a special cheese mill, while preserving manicure 😊, and many other useful tricks. Sommelier Ksenia Yangulova offered Essere Custoza Cesari and Frizzantino Trebbiano del Rubicone Amabile Chiarli wines from the Goodwine assortment for this lesson. At the end of the lesson we shared a lunch, and had a photo shoot and autographs signing with our star.
